This is The Rose Edit

I've been in insurance for over twenty years.

I know what that sounds like. I know the image it conjures — the cold call, the pitch, the policy language nobody reads until something goes wrong. I know, because I've spent two decades trying to be the version of this that's actually worth your time.

This is me, finally on purpose.

The Rose Edit is what happens when you stop waiting for permission to be the full version of yourself. It's my insurance practice — twenty years of experience, fifteen states, a psychology degree I use every single day, and a real estate license I got because I wanted to understand what my clients were actually buying. It's a blog about what I've learned, what I'm still figuring out, and why the difference between what you think you have and what you actually have on paper matters more than most people realize.

It's also a painting series I'm just getting back to after eleven years away.

Those things aren't separate. They never were.

What this is really about

Insurance is about home. What we build, what we protect, what it costs us to keep it — and what we lose when we don't. The paintings are called The Insured. I'm not an insurance agent who also happens to make art. I'm someone who has spent her entire adult life thinking about what people value and what it actually takes to protect it. The insurance is how that shows up at work. The rest of this is how it shows up everywhere else.

What you'll find here

The Edit is content for people who want to actually understand their coverage — not just sign at the bottom and hope for the best. It's the conversation I wish every client would let me have before something goes wrong instead of after. Flood vs. home policy. What ACV means and why it's quietly costing people money. The question I ask at every closing that nobody else thinks to ask.

It's also, sometimes, what I'm reading. What I'm painting. What it looks like to build something intentional in the middle of a life that doesn't slow down and wait for you to be ready.

If you're here because you need insurance in one of the fifteen states I work in — welcome. Let's talk. There's a quote form and a contact page and I answer my own email.

If you're here because something in this resonated and you're not sure exactly why yet — that's fine too. Stay a while.
